The following outline details the legislative directives that apply to plastic packaging at present:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"834\" height=\"318\" src=\"https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-7.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-7.png 834w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-7-300x114.png 300w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-7-768x293.png 768w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-7-600x229.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 834px) 100vw, 834px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directive 2019\/904, concerning the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment. Also known as the Single-Use Plastics Directive, it establishes specific measures to prevent and reduce the impact of certain plastic products on the environment and human health, setting requirements such as those detailed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plastic products with plastic caps and lids may only be placed on the market if the caps or lids remain attached to the container&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Regarding plastic bottles, each Member State shall ensure that: a) as of 2025, beverage bottles&#8230; whose main component in manufacturing is polyethylene terephthalate (&#8220;PET bottles&#8221;) contain at least 25% recycled plastic, calculated as an average of all PET bottles introduced to the market within its territory; and b) as of 2030, beverage bottles&#8230; contain at least 30% recycled plastic, calculated as an average of all such beverage bottles introduced to the market within its territory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This directive requires transposition to be applied in each of the Member States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Law 7\/2022, on waste and contaminated soil for a circular economy. It corresponds to the transposition of the previous European directive into Spanish legislation, extensively covering measures for waste reduction and establishing measures to promote the circular economy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Non-Recycled Plastic: a rate of \u20ac0.45\/kg is applied to the manufacture, intra-community acquisition, and importation of non-recycled plastic products intended for consumption and use within the Spanish national market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recycled Plastic: it sets January 1, 2024, as the deadline for manufacturers to certify compliance with UNE EN 15343: &#8220;Recycled Plastics. Traceability and conformity assessment of plastics recycling and recycled content.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Regulation 10\/2011, on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. In summary, this regulation, along with Reg. 1935\/2004 and 2023\/2006, establishes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Requirements for the manufacture of plastic packaging for food contact,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tests to be carried out for the validation of packaging (Migration Tests),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Appropriate documentation to be transmitted along the food chain (Declaration of Conformity).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Regulation 2022\/1616, concerning recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. This regulation complements Reg. 10\/2011 and establishes specific guidelines for recycled plastics on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Authorization of recycling technologies and development of innovative technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Procedures for authorization of recycling processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registry of technologies, recyclers, recycling facilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Model of Declaration of Conformity to be used by recyclers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Model Declaration of Conformity to be used by plastic transformers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33514\" srcset=\"https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-600x600.png 600w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-100x100.png 100w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1-50x50.png 50w, https:\/\/heisglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Directivas-y-legislacion-aplicable-sobre-plastico-reciclado-en-envases-1.png 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, HEIS GLOBAL, in compliance with the legislation applicable to the packaging it manufactures, offers PET and RPET packaging and is certified under UNE-EN 15343 for packaging manufactured with different percentages of RPET.
